Good to know

These fees outline standard session fees for private and Medicare clients. Medicare rebates under Better Access are only available for sessions with a registered psychologist, not with a provisional psychologist. To learn more about payment methods, Medicare rebates, or NDIS funding, please use the links on this page. TAC-funded support can be discussed with the clinic; contact us to confirm what your claim covers. Please provide at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule.

What is non-face-to-face time?

This time allows your Psychologist to:

  • Finalise notes and documentation
  • Develop tailored resources or strategies
  • Collaborate with other professionals (e.g. teachers, GPs)
  • Complete clinical administration

These activities support high-quality, individualised care beyond the time spent directly with your child.

Questions families ask

Do I need a referral?

Private clients can start without a GP or paediatrician referral. For Medicare, book with your usual GP (or a GP at your MyMedicare practice) for a Mental Health Treatment Plan, or ask a paediatrician or psychiatrist about a direct referral, before your psychology appointment. Referrals must be dated prior to or on the day of your scheduled appointment and cannot be back-dated.

Can I claim a Medicare rebate?

On the day of your appointment, payment is settled in full. For sessions with a registered psychologist, the clinic can process your Medicare rebate into your nominated account, or give you a paid receipt so you can claim it yourself. Medicare rebates under Better Access are only available for sessions with a registered psychologist, not with a provisional psychologist. Eligible children may also access Medicare rebates for assessment services under the complex neurodevelopmental conditions and eligible disabilities pathway, with an appropriate medical referral.

Do you see NDIA-managed participants?

Tic Tac Toe Early Childhood Psychology is an unregistered NDIS provider. We provide NDIS-funded psychology services to participants who are self-managed or plan-managed. Participants whose NDIS funding is NDIA-managed are generally required to receive supports from registered NDIS providers and are therefore unable to use their NDIS funding for services with Tic Tac Toe.
